Mandatory Engineering Change Orders & Technical Bulletins

Model 5500 & 5800 Series LCD Technical Bulletin and Engineering Change Order.  Date: 31 July 2004

The former XCP/IPSI production of EscroVend "12 Series" Coin-op's and VendaCard Terminals have a potential problem that will ultimately cause total failure of the CPU board & 1x16 back illuminated LCD.  This assembly error could cause permanent damage.  Replace the existing 0.50 inch nylon spacers with a .375 inch pair of nylon spacers & add 2 of the insulating fiber washers between the back side of the LCD and the 2x56 metal machine nut.  Failure to make this change will result in the 2x56 metal machine nut cutting through the very thin varnish coating on the back side of the LCD.  When the 2x56 machine nut cuts through and makes contact with the LCD back side circuit board trace, the result is a dead short to the +12 volt power supply of the "12 Series" CPU board.   This will permanently damage the "12 Series CPU Board".
